YOUTH ESCORT POLICY APPLIED DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC OR UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

1. River Valley Mall guests under 16 are required to be accompanied by a parent, or guardian 21 years or older while in the mall.

2. Individuals utilizing public or other forms of transportation must schedule their departure time to ensure compliance with the Youth Escort Policy.

3. Proof of age will be required if the age of the youth and/or parent(s) or guardian is not easily determined. Those whose age cannot be determined and who lack identification will be asked to leave the property. (Acceptable identification includes a driver’s license, state or military identification card, passport or visa.)

4. Any person violating the posted Youth Escort Policy or Code of Conduct will be asked to leave the property.

5. Individuals in violation of the Youth Escort Policy or in violation of any posted rules who refuse to leave the property when requested to do so by security officers may be prosecuted for trespassing.

6. Youths under 16 working on property will be allowed access without a parent or guardian. Proof of work status will be required, and youth employees must go directly to the place of employment and must leave the property at the conclusion of their work shift when their shift ends.

7. Parental or guardian escorts must maintain visual contact with all children for whom they are responsible. A parent or guardian can supervise up to 4 youths.

8. Parents or guardians are accountable for the actions of youth they escort.  If an escorted youth is banned from River Valley Mall, the adult escort may also be banned for the same period of time.

9. The Youth Escort Policy is posted at all entrances. Security personnel are responsible for enforcing this policy and related procedures.

10. Unescorted Youth within the common area may be required to wait for their parent or guardian in a designated pick up area.
